![]() ![]() For context, PC controller players have their own default aim assist which they cannot change, which is 0.4. Already, we’ve established that default console aim assist is closer to aimbot than not, which sounds ridiculous. It may be small amount and most times it wont kick in, but mouse and keyboard players got none. Moreover, PC players have still been able to play with other PC players regardless of their input method, so all of Blizzard's decisions had not necessarily been encouraging fair play across platforms. For those out the loop, the default aim assist for console is 0.6, with 0 being no aim assist and 1 being literal aimbot. Originally posted by Running Red Fox: There is a small amount of aim assist but considering youre trying to aim with a controller, and that most times it wont kick in, Id say no special treatment. Console aim-assist had also been disabled by default even if you were to group up with a PC player, so having a friend on PC does not actually work in your favor by any means. ![]() Console players are not free to play against PC players unless they team up with other PC users and get shoved into the PC matchmaking pool. The issue of cross-play with Overwatch is more complicated than what the term actually implies, though it's not that clear and is only subtly mentioned in Blizzard's dedicated FAQ. RELATED: Overwatch 2 Console Players Slam Blizzard For Disabling Aim-Assist Against PC Players The gesture has put console players at a serious disadvantage, and many players had been unable to have fun with friends who were using PCs, not to mention the latter already having an edge because of using a mouse and keyboard, which give an obvious competitive advantage in any first-person shooter game. I dont think so, otherwise people could configure a mouse and keyboard to appear like a controller and thus give an unfair advantage. The solution to this issue would be to slightly buff aim assist on console and/or slightly nerf aim assist on PC. Meanwhile, our PC friends are getting destroyed in tournaments by controller players who have better bloom and a lock-on aimbot. Previously, Blizzard had aim-assist in Overwatch 2 disabled only for console players, and that's only when playing against PC players in crossplay matches. There is no aim assist on PC, it would mess up the competitive nature of our multiplayer mode but is needed on consoles. The console players don’t understand the problem and feel like L2 is far weaker than it once was. Blizzard has announced in its recent Overwatch 2 patch notes that crossplay aim assist between console and PC players is coming back and that it will be enabled in all match types except for competitive matches. ![]()
